Awesome, we’re stoked you’re using Neighborhoody! Here we describe how we collect, use, and handle your information when you use our websites, software, and services ("Services"). When we talk about “Neighborhoody”, “we”, “our”, or “us” in this policy, we are referring to Homeownly, LLC (“Neighborhoody”), the company which provides the Services. Content and information submitted by users to the Services is referred to in this policy as (“Customer Data”). Customer Data is controlled by the organization or other third party that created and or manages the organization (the “Organization”). This Privacy Policy (“Policy”) describes the information that we gather on or through the Services, how we use and disclose such information, and the steps we take to protect such information. By visiting Neighborhoody.com, or by purchasing or using the Services, you consent to the privacy practices described in this Policy. Our Services are currently available for use via a web browser or applications specific to your desktop or mobile devices.
Neighborhoody is a communication platform for local neighborhoods and or communities. We better neighborhood engagement through centralized messaging efforts.
We collect different types of Customer Data from or through the Services:
We collect Customer Data from you when you provide it to us directly or give us the OK to get it from another source. When you register for Neighborhoody, you voluntarily provide your name, email address, phone number, profile photo, and similar information. If you decide to invite new users to join Neighborhoody, you might share their information with us such as email address, phone number, or residential address, or you may share your contacts with us, so we can send an invitation and send follow-up reminders on your behalf. If you use Facebook or Google to register, log in to, or later connect your accounts to Neighborhoody, you authorize these third-party services to share your information with us, including your email address and other profile information.
We collection information about your Organization, employer, or associated business entity or association when you provide it to us. When you use the Services associated with an Organization account, you voluntarily provide the Organization’s name, website, email address, phone number, demographical data, Organization URL (Organization-name.neighborhoody.com) and similar information. For Organizations that utilize a paid version of our Services, our affiliates, partners, and our third-party payment processors may collect and store billing address and credit card information on our behalf or we may do this ourselves.
We may collect Customer Data such as name, email address, and other personally-identifying information in order to contact or resolve a user-initiated request. You may choose to give us access to your contacts to make it easy for you to do things like share, invite, and collaborate on the Services, and invite others to use the Services. If you do grant us access, we will store those contacts on our servers for you to use.
We collect non-personally-identifying Customer Data in order to better understand how visitors use the Services and, where possible, to improve their experience. For instance, we log the time it takes to run database queries so that we can improve performance. In some cases, we may publicly display information that is not personally identifying in the aggregate, (e.g., by publishing a report on trends in the usage of our Services) or may provide the aggregate data to third parties. When you use the Services, we also collect potentially personally identifying information in the form of Internet Protocol (IP) addresses, the Uniform Resource Locator (URL) accessed (which may reference the name of a board, card, username, or team), and the unique identification number associated with the account.
We may obtain Customer Data from our vendors, partners, advertisers, Organizations such as individual Associations and or Professional Management Companies, local agencies, and or public sources. We may use special tools that are commonly used, such as cookies, beacons, pixels, tags, mobile advertising IDs, flash cookies, and similar technologies. We may have access to databases of information collected by our business partners. When you register to use the Services, we will ask and verify your personally-identifying information to confirm your identity as the authorized person to use the Services.
We use the Customer Data that we collect in a variety of ways in providing the Services and operating our business, including the following:
To allow you to register for our Services and to administer and process the registration
To communicate with you about products, services, and related issues
To evaluate the quality of our products and services, and to enhance your experience of our Services
To maintain and administer our Services and comply with our legal or internal obligations and policies
To charge you any fees and provide you with a receipt or resolve billing issues associated with your account
To market or advertise our products and services. You may opt out of these at any time.
To understand and analyze usage trends and preferences of our visitors and users, to improve the Services, and to develop new products, services, features, and functionality
To verify the authenticity of a registering user by means of address verification, SMS 2-factor authentication, or other means deemed necessary
Choice is all about what you want and giving you the ability to control how we share your Customer Data with others. We never share any personal information with non-agent third parties, unless required to do so by law, or if we believe in good faith that disclosure is reasonably necessary to protect our property, rights, or those of third parties or the public at large. You may provide us with instructions on what to do with customer data. A customer has many choices and control over customer data. For example, Customer may provision or deprovision access to the Services, enable or disable third-party integrations, manage permissions, transfer or assign Organizations, or consolidate Organizations or communities with other Organizations and communities.
The browser you use may provide you the ability to control cookies or other types of local storage. Your mobile device may provide you with choices around how and whether location or other data is collected and shared. Neighborhoody does not control these choices or default settings.
As we’ve said above, we know that you do not want spam or marketing calls from third parties, so we will never sell or rent your Customer Data to third parties, and we won’t share it with a third party unless we have your authorization.
The Services may contain features or links to web sites and services provided by third parties. Any Customer Data you provide on third-party sites or services is provided directly to the operators of such services and is subject to those operators’ policies, if any, governing privacy and security, even if accessed through the Services. We are not responsible for the content or privacy and security practices and policies of third-party sites or services to which links or access are provided through the Services. We encourage you to learn about third parties’ privacy and security policies before providing them with information.
We follow generally accepted industry standards to protect the information submitted to us, both during transmission and once we receive it. We maintain appropriate administrative, technical and physical safeguards to protect Customer Data against accidental or unlawful destruction, accidental loss, unauthorized alteration, unauthorized disclosure or access, misuse, and any other unlawful form of processing of the Customer Data in our possession. This includes, for example, firewalls, password protection, and other access and authentication controls. We use SSL technology to encrypt data during transmission through public internet, and we also employ application-layer security features to further anonymize Customer Data.
However, no method of transmission over the Internet, or method of electronic storage, is 100% secure. We cannot ensure or warrant the security of any information you transmit to us or store on the Services, and you do so at your own risk. We also cannot guarantee that such information may not be accessed, disclosed, altered, or destroyed by breach of any of our physical, technical, or managerial safeguards.
We'll retain Customer Data you store on our Services for as long as we need it to provide you the Services. If you delete your account, we'll also delete this information. But please note: there might be some latency in deleting this information from our servers and backup storage; and we may retain this information if necessary to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, or enforce our agreements.
Protecting the privacy of young children is especially important. Our Services are not directed to children under the age of 18, and we do not knowingly collect Customer Data from children under the age of 18 without obtaining parental consent. If you are under 18 years of age, then please do not use or access the Services at any time or in any manner. If we learn that Customer Data has been collected on the Services from persons under 18 years of age and without verifiable parental consent, then we will take the appropriate steps to delete this information. If you are a parent or guardian and discover that your child under 18 years of age has obtained access to the Service, then you may alert us at privacy@neighborhoody.com and request that we delete that child’s Customer Data from our systems.
If we are involved in a reorganization, merger, acquisition or sale of our assets, your Customer Data may be transferred as part of that deal. We will notify you (for example, via a message to the email address associated with your account) of any such deal and outline your choices in that event.
We may revise this Privacy Policy from time to time, and will post the most current version on our website. If a revision meaningfully reduces your rights, we will notify you.
If you have questions or concerns about Neighborhoody or the Services provided, please contact us at privacy@neighborhoody.com.
