2020 Pool Season

The pool will not be able to open on time for the Memorial Weekend.  While the governor has started lifting some restrictions, the restrictions for outdoor pool use are still to great to be able to offer service to all potential patrons.  There is no wading pool, playing pool, or congregating pool use; there sizable space restrictions for the pool deck; there is increased cleaning and sanitizing regulations for the pool facilities; there are entrance and exit restrictions for the pool gate; and other restrictions that we just cannot overcome at this time.  In addition, the governor has not allowed the pool companies to be able to open up their lifeguard training services.  On top of that the HOA industry professionals (attorneys, insurance agents, licensing bodies) have advised and urged that the community amenities should NOT be opened until things are safe. The pool management company, the HOA management company, and the Board of Directors continue to closely monitor this changing environment.  At this time we are still looking for the governors guidance on and release of Executive order 55 (Stay at Home Order).  Our fingers are crossed that we will be able to open once this EO has been lifted.  But, please keep in the back of your mind that the pool may not be able to open until the governor moves the state into Phase 3 of the re-opening plan

Grounds Maintenance during COVID-19

Commonwealth Irrigation and Landscape Corporation has been monitoring the Coronavirus carefully.  As the virus continues to escalate in the number of cases in Virginia, they continue to enforce procedures within their organization.  These procedures include, but are not limited to…Continuous cleaning and sanitizing of their office and vehicles, hand washing while in the office and in the field with supplemental use of hand sanitizer when soap and water are not available, and staggering workforce start times to keep groups small and close contact by employees minimized.   They are taking their role in Villages of Salem Station seriously as they try to make sure each owner is taken care of in a safe and timely manner.  As they do this, you will possibly experience a difference in how they have provided service in the past as they continue to take precautions to protect their team, their families and you.   Employees are not permitted to shake hands with each other or homeowners. They continue to practice social distancing while providing services. If an employee is not feeling well for any reason, they are asked to stay at home. If you are sick for any reason, they ask that you maintain your distance.   We are all asking for your patience as we all work through an unprecedented and challenging time for everyone involved.  They have adivsed that there may be times when scheduled lawn maintenance may need to be altered to be safe.

Spreading Cheer During Coronavirus

During these uncertain times the Board is allowing residents to display seasonal lights for a short period of time.  Any resident wishing to participate may put up holiday (Christmas) lights from now through April 15, 2020.  We realize this is contrary to the lighting regulations in the HOA’s governing documents but support the need to spread some cheer!
